Oak Grove Acres Press Release, 18-March-2003

Amputees to Benefit from Harley Davidson 100th Anniversary Campground
Oak Grove Acres to Donate Portion of Proceeds to Barr Foundation

JUNEAU, Wis. - March 18, 2003 - Oak Grove Acres, a special-event campground open for the 100th anniversary celebration of Harley Davidson in August 2003, announced that it will donate five dollars from every reservation to the Florida-based Barr Foundation, an organization designed to aid amputees in obtaining prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation services.

The Harley Davidson 100th anniversary celebration is expected to attract thousands of motorcycles and enthusiasts to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To accommodate the people traveling from across the United States and around the world, several temporary campgrounds have been created, including Oak Grove Acres. Located just 45 miles west of Milwaukee in Juneau, Wisconsin, Oak Grove Acres was founded by Jonas A. Zahn. Zahn, an amputee of three years as the result of a motorcycle accident, organized The Barr Foundation's participation in this event. They have joined efforts to raise funds for amputees who have no other resources for funding prosthetic rehabilitation. With a right-leg, below knee amputation, Zahn is able to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle again with the aid of a specially fit prosthetic leg.

"Many of the 700 amputees we have assisted have been bikers who have lost limbs to road wrecks--often through no fault of their own," says Anthony T Barr, President of the Barr Foundation, "The Zahn family's gracious offer to include the Barr Foundation in this event to help assist amputees to become Whole Again is typical of how motorcycle enthusiasts and amputees want to help one another. We will attempt to target the money raised by Oak Grove Acres to bikers who have lost limbs as the result of an accident."

Oak Grove Acres is now accepting reservations for the more than 1000 campsites it has available for Harley Davidson's 100th Anniversary Celebration during the last week of August 2003. Conveniently located in the heart of the celebration between Madison and Milwaukee, campsite fees range from $125 per adult for the week to $250 for recreational vehicles for the week.

"From my hospital bed," Zahn says, "I was overwhelmed by the support I received from family, friends, the biker community, and my employer." Zahn knows how fortunate he was to have outstanding benefits through his employer-the expense of a custom-fit prosthesis was one less obstacle for him. Zahn says, "I have always wanted to help other amputees, and working with the Barr foundation gives me the opportunity to share some of the incredible support that I received when I needed it most."
